In Billericay we have a variety of clubs, societies and other organisations that need access to a hall in which to carry out their activities. The Chantry Way Centre, being conveniently located in the Town Centre, has met that need for very many years. In 2016 Billericay Town Council took over responsibility for the Centre from Basildon Borough Council. The building is in a dilapidated condition. We now plan to rebuild the Chantry Way Centre. Our ambition is to provide a well equipped multi-purpose building which will prove to be a valuable community asset for many years to come.
We invite local residents to give us their opinions on our plans. To the right are a series of links which explain the background and highlight what is being planned. On Saturday 11th August from 10am to 4pm
we are having an Open Day with a large information display in the Chantry Way Centre when you will be able to talk to both representatives from the Town Council and architects. The Chantry Way centre is accessed from the top of Chantry Way or from the High Street (between The Chequers and Ravens Bakery).
A smaller display is available for viewing in the Library between 1st August and 14th August.
We welcome your feedback. Paper forms will be available in both the Library and during the Chantry Way session on the 11th, and there is an electronic form accessible via the link on the right.
