Projects.

The Town Council is always working on a number of different projects, some on-going and some one-off.  Please click on buttons on the left for more information on specific projects.

Any Councillor [or group of Councillors] can propose new projects to be considered by one of the three Committees of the Town Council. Once it has been established that the proposal is legal and within the Town Council’s powers and that at least three Councillors wish to commit to work on it, the Committee forms a “Project Group” and decides on its Terms of Reference.

The Project Group may invite and co-opt suitable specialists from outside the Town Council to assist with its investigation into the feasibility and cost implications of the project. Once this phase is completed the project is re-submitted to the appropriate Committee for approval and funding. Once funding has been allocated the “Project Group” becomes a “Working Party”, reporting to a Committee and responsible for delivering the project to its completion.

Meetings of Project Groups and Working Parties are not normally open to the public.
