Air Marshall Sir Frederick Sowrey

The Town Council were very sad to hear the news that Air Marshall Sir Frederick Sowrey passed away on 24 July 2019. Sir Frederick visited Billericay in 2016 and unveiled the stone in Greens Farm Lane which commemorates the shooting down of the Zeppelin by his father 2Lt. Frederick Sowrey. This was an occasion which will live on in our memories for a long time. We feel honoured to have been among those who were able to have met and talked with Sir Freddie.
