Billericay Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year

BILLERICAY TOWN COUNCIL IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE ITS NEW CITIZEN AND YOUNG CITIZEN OF THE YEAR FOR 2023 

On 4th May Cllr Jo Clark and the Town Clerk visited Billericay Foodbank to present Stuart Gibbs with his Citizen of the Year award. Stuart is a very modest man but has been one of the leading lights at the foodbank which has gone from strength to strength and helps support many households in the local area. He leads from the front in logistics and fund raising and is highly valued by the other team members.

 On 2nd May Cllr Jo Clark presented George Wood with his award for Young Citizen of the Year. George was nominated for his dedication and service to the Youth Town Council. He is the group’s publicity officer and Vice-Chairman and rarely misses a meeting. George is always keen to help out in the community and recently was a track marshal at the Soapbox Derby. He has been elected to the Young Essex Assembly and received a Jack Petchey Award for a talk he gave on youth crime.
