Billericay Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year 2018

After lots of nominations the Town Council announced its Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year. The Citizen of the Year for 2018 was awarded to Kay Baker for her work with the scouting movement. In the past few years Kay has been running Scouts, Cubs and Beavers due to the lack of long term volunteers. Kay has also supported young leaders gaining experience and working towards the Duke of Edinburgh awards. In addition she has been an active supporter of the British Legion, contributing to the Poppy campaign and Remembrance Service.

Our Young Citizen of the Year this year is Jasmine Regan. As part of 2393 (Billericay) Air Cadets Jasmine has attended almost all of the community activities that the Air Cadets have been involved in including, litter picks, Round Table fireworks display, Church Services, Community gardening projects and the Christmas lights switch on.
Cllr Jim Devlin presented Kay with her award at the Scouts annual AGM on Wednesday 13th June and Jasmine received her award at the 2393 (Billericay) Air Cadets presentation evening on Saturday 16th June.

Congratulations and thank you to both of our winners for volunteering within our community.
