Citizen of the Year Winners

After much deliberation and voting by our councillors the Town Council can now announce the winners of citizen and young citizen of the year. Our congratulations go to:

 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR

 Richard Leahy

 For dedicating hundreds of voluntary hours to the local community and his involvement with many of the community events in the town including the Soap Box Derby, Christmas Market, Fireworks Display and Santa Sleigh. His motivation, energy and commitment to fundraising has helped ensure that many vulnerable and marginalised people have benefitted.

YOUNG CITIZEN OF THE YEAR

Katie Smith

For her formidable voluntary contribution to the Billericay Parkrun and for taking on all of the volunteer roles and always being positive, friendly and supportive towards all the participants. Katie’s contribution has helped shape the ‘personality’ of the event and its positive reputation in the town.
