The Billericay Morris Men entertained the crowd after a welcome address by Cllr Jo Clark, Chairman of Billericay Town Council. There was a procession of the uniformed organisations represented by Billericay Air Cadets and the Army Cadet Force as well as the Scouts. Prior to the beacon lighting there was a reading from Reverend Paul Carr followed by a piper playing Diu Regnale and Majesty which was played by a bugler. After the beacon was lit The Ladybirds sang “A life filled with Grace” which was a song written specially for the Jubilee. Jim Shrubb, the Town Crier, signified the end of proceedings by leading the crowd in a rousing call of three cheers for Her Majesty.
